Right on the heart of Alentejo we find the enchanting Monte do Sobral!
On the road that connects the small village of Alcáçovas to Viana do Alentejo, we find Monte do Sobral, a typical hill from Alentejo, currently with 4 hectares, but that on ancient times was an agricultural property with nearly 2000 hectares.
The many buildings, nowadays dedicated to TER, are the result of the repurposing of ancient agricultural houses that on times passed supported the extensive agricultural activity on the Herdade do Sobral.
All the housing on Monte do Sobral are independent and are equipped with a fireplace.
A covered pool, a game room, with snooker, table football and ping-pong, and a playground to entertain the youngest. There is also a badminton court and open ring with several other activities: target shooting, bow and arrow, horses for rides on the countryside, kayak and canoeing for the dam.
Monte do Sobral is also associated with the recent history in Portugal, for it was here that on September 9 1973, the first meeting from the movement of captains that would result on the 25 of April 1974.
A short distance from Évora, a city that is humanity patrimony, Alcácer do Sal, Montemor-o-Novo, Alvito, Portel, among other, Monte do Sobral is an invitation to the discovery of the deep Alentejo.
